Frequently asked questions

Is KromaSEO really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark added by us and no daily limits. The compressor runs on your device, so it costs us nothing to let you use it as much as you want.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Compression, resizing, cropping and backgrounds all happen inside your browser. Your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.

Which formats are supported?

You can add JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and iPhone HEIC photos, and save them as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, up to 500 images at a time.

Do I have to pay for the AI tools?

No. The AI Studio uses your own Google Gemini API key, which you can create for free in about 2 minutes. Google's free tier has daily and per-minute limits. The key is stored only in your browser.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux, with nothing to install.

Does it remove location data from my photos?

Yes. GPS location is always removed. By default all other metadata is removed too, or you can keep your author and copyright information.
